Long ago he divested himself 

of any notion of holiday.

The last to pass was Thanksgiving.

Six days a week he made into Lent.

There is no seventh since he dispensed with weeks.

His feasts are crescent moons and full.

How can it seem he ever awoke?

Hace mucho él se desnudó 

de alguna noción de fiestas.

La última fue la Acción de Gracias.

Él convirtió seis días en la Cuaresma.

Pero no hay ningún día séptimo

porque se deshizo de todas las semanas.

Cuarto creciente y plenilunio son sus días feriados.

¿Cómo se puede parecer que él ha amanecido?
